It seems that there is a shortage of faculty. I heard that Drdo scientists teach there. Personally I never been to DIAT pune .
I heard that the campus is very beautiful & Full with greenery(496 acres). Hostel is available for accommodation. One room is allotted to two students.
DRDO has marked DIAT as their recruitment  centre. But absorption in DRDO is still difficult because seats are very low. These course has narrow scope since very few private companies are defence manufacturer. Now a Days Mahindra Group, L &T  and TATA are getting orders from Defence so may be in future there is a demand of these kind of Professionals. I know some of the graduates of DIAT & they are leading the nation. One of such Alumni of DIAT is Tessy Thomas, The Missile Woman.

M.Tech in Comupter Science after graduation from Non CS/IT branch

I Want to pursue M.Tech in Computer Science  but my graduation is in Non CS/IT branch. Can I pursue it??

When it comes to Placement, CS postgraduates are sold as hot cakes. Everyone wants a lucrative white collar job in a top MNC. What you think about your future as an android developer? If you realize that CS is your passion you should pursue it. GATE allows you to write the paper in any branch of your choice. You can prepare for CS & write the GATE in cs. You can apply to almost all the CS programs. Alternatively You still have an option. With same GATE score in any branch of engg. You can apply for the M.tech Program in Mathematics & computation. It has some similarity to CS. Many CS companies recruit  Matka’s from this branch. With this option you can save 1 year since sufficient  preparation for cs requires 1 year. But remember it is not the Computer Science Program. Even this program is offered by Mathematics Department. It is never too late. After studying 5-6 core paper of CS you will be ready to grasp the course. Your passion will drive you towards your goal.

Should I go for M.Tech in Mechanical engineering??

Should I go for M.Tech??
The question is of great importance. It depends up on person to person.  I will assume you to fall in any of these categories & you have passion for research:-
1. If you are satisfied with present job or ur present condition.
2. If you have a mediocre job that most graduates have these days
3. You are unemployed
If you belong to first category that you have a good job & you are satisfied with it & you are passionate about job then I will suggest you to pursue masters from top IITs only. May be after post graduation you will not get the job at  par with your previous job. Getting into masters will take 2 precious years of your life so you have to take a wise decision.  May be after M.tech you will not get any job and you have to pursue Phd which will take about 3-4 years. You may regret later so better to analyze early. If you get top IITs 7 branch of your choice then only go for it. There is a fair chance that you will get a good package after masters for work which you like. Remember M.Tech from IITs & IISc is something serious. You can not prepare for jobs. You can travel frequently here & there because they are serious about the attendance. Masters at premium institutes require full time dedication.Although there are some NITs & other institutes which have good placement for masters but IITs have unbeatable faculties & vibrant environment.
If you belongs to second category, It means you are not satisfied with your job & you have passion for research then you should go for masters. I will advise you to prepare a preference list based on your choice & participate in counseling.

The same is applicable for third category.
